Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do at Nakatumble. We strive to create a harmonious balance between enjoying the beauty of Vanuatu and protecting it for future generations.
Our commitment to sustainability shapes our operations and enhances your experience. We diligently work to minimise our environmental footprint through various eco-friendly initiatives. Nakatumble aims to operate on 100% solar energy, reducing our reliance on non-renewable resources. On a perfectly sunny day, our 60 solar panels produce approximately 1.5 million watt-hours per month. If guests are mindful and use appliances like hair dryers during the day, we can typically power through the night.
We extend this sustainable thinking to our kitchen, preparing most of your dishes during the day to conserve energy after dark. Our generator is on standby to ensure a seamless stay for our guests when needed.
Around the property, our pool pumps and irrigation systems run on solar power, and we harvest significant amounts of rainwater for use throughout the estate. We are also committed to reducing waste through recycling and composting initiatives.
We encourage our guests to join us in these efforts by using refillable containers and minimizing single-use plastics. Together, we can enjoy the beauty of Vanuatu while protecting it for the future!

Sustainable Paradise
Our carefully selected farm animals help create nutrient-rich soil for our lush organic crops. We produce biogas for cooking, and our sprawling organic and biodynamic farm supplies a significant percentage of the food served on the estate. Supporting local farmers and artisans is a priority for us. The food we serve and the products we use reflect the rich culture of Vanuatu. By sourcing ingredients locally, we promote community livelihoods and reduce our carbon footprint by minimising transportation.
We honour and respect the traditions and practices of the local kastom landowners. Our initiatives aim to celebrate and preserve Vanuatu’s unique heritage, ensuring that the culture thrives alongside our commitment to sustainability.
